Inspection and Quality Assurance System

In the field of inspection/quality assurance, DASTURCO has provided comprehensive services on a number of metallurgical, chemical and allied projects during the past five decades in India and Abroad. In connection with the inspection and quality assurance jobs, responsible engineers are visiting various manufacturing works for stage as well as final inspection of plant and equipment in various countries throughout the world. These include Japan, South Korea, USA, Germany, UK, France, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Venezuela, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Spain etc. besides India.

DASTURCO offers inspection services covering a wide range of equipment; materials handling equipment including variuos types of cranes and conveyors; heavy structures; transmission lines and towers; water treatment plant; steam generating plant;oxygen and compressed air plant; gas cleaning plant; pressure vessels of various types including globe rotary digesters; basic oxygen converter; coke ovens and by products plants; steel rolling mills, pipelines of seamless, ERW and spirally welded type; pipe fittings, valves, air and gas compressors, turbo-blowers and fans, gas and steam turbines, various electrical equipment such as generators, power transformers, reactors, motors, thyristor converters continuous casting plant; SF6 and other types of switchgears, EHV oil filled cables, power, control and communication cables and conductors of various types control and instrumentation systems including microprocessors based systems, PLCs, computer systems, BF/reheating furnace refractories etc.

DASTURCO is an independent inspection agency and has no tieups with suppliers of process know-how and equipment. This ensures that optimum quality levels are maintained, because it is not subject to any clash of interest. Its sole objective is the assurance of the highest quality in the interest of the client and the project.

The organisation's inspection wing carries out major inspection/quality assurance/ expediting tasks such as formulation of inspection plans and procedures based on drawings and specifications, besides inspection/quality assurance/expediting services at manufacturers' shops on the basis of approved drawings, schematics, specifications and various codes of practices-both Indian and International.

Inspection Engineers also inspect the packing before shipment, mostly for overseas jobs, if required. Shipping release documents are issued, wherever necessary. Depending on the contract, inspection and quality assurance activities are extended to the erection sites, prior to equipment erection and commissioning. At client's request, concerned inspection engineers also visit sub-contractor's works to verify their capacity for carrying out specific jobs.

DASTURCO has a large team of qualified, certified and experienced inspection engineers, many of whom are well-versed in non-destructive testing techniques such as radiography, ultrasonics, magnetic particle, eddy current, dye and fluorescent penetrant methods of testing which are vital for checking forgings, castings and critical welded structures, storage tanks, pipelines and critical machine components. Besides NDT, number of inspection engineers are specialised in the field of welding technology. They evaluate welding procedure specification, procedure qualification record, and welders qualification and/or relevant codes of practice.
