Dasturco has so far provided consultancy services for various types of power plants with an aggregate installed power generating capacity of about 4,100 MW. Conventional Thermal Power Stations based on Fossil Fuels
DASTURCO has engineered a number of Thermal Power Stations featuring conventional fuel fired boilers as well as multi-fuel fired boilers using solid, liquid & gaseous fuels. This includes typically steel plant generated by-product fuels e.g. Blast Furnace gas, Coke Oven Gas etc in addition to coal and furnace oil.The largest facility executed from concept to completion is the 400MW (th) captive Power plant installed at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam, India. At full utilisation, the plant delivers 250MW of electrical power, 60MW of mechanical drive power for the Blast Furnace Turbo Blowers and rest as process steam. A unique feature of this plant is its design to fire combination of steel plant generated by-product fuels e.g. Blast Furnace gas, Coke Oven Gas etc in addition to coal and furnace oil.Thermal Power Plants based on Waste Heat Recovery / Energy Conservation
DASTURCO has been at the forefront in engineering Thermal Power Plants based on waste heat energy which include boilers based on waste energy recovered from:
- Off-gases from rotary kilns of sponge iron plants.
- Coke oven exhaust gases.
- Blast furnace gas.
- Process Tail Gases from carbon black plant.
Biomass / Renewable Energy based Power Plants
Dasturco is involved in engineering of Biomass based Power Projects since 1999. Dasturco is also one of the Business Development Associates (BDA) of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), which is involved in effective promotion and development of renewable energy based projects. Dasturco is also in constant touch with various State nodal agencies appointed by MNES for development of projects in various States in India.DASTURCO has provided comprehensive engineering services for number of biomass based power projects and biomass based co-generation projects. DASTURCO is also in constant touch with the projects in operation to obtain valuable feedback data on operating experience which will be useful for the other projects being engineered by DASTURCO.DASTURCO is involved as Consultants for Biomass based power plants of capacities varying from 2 MW to 20 MW in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab States of India.
